How'd we get here? 

Like many business school students, Connor and I spent countless runs tossing around half-formed ideas about building something of our own. We were drawn to the idea of creating a business that would let us avoid careers spent endlessly rearranging slides as consultants or investment bankers. Great paths for many, just not the ones we wanted.

Lap One emerged more naturally. As we became more intentional about our wellness and athletic pursuits, we noticed a gap. While a wave of innovative brands was redefining performance and style, there was no single destination to discover and shop the best of what was emerging. Lap One was built to be that destination.

For the past year, we have been working to bring this vision to life. We pitched brands, attended tradeshows, and worked relentlessly with our team and advisors to build the platform you see today.

We did not start Lap One because we claimed to be experts in e-commerce, web development, or content creation. We started it because we care deeply about empowering people to pursue the best versions of themselves through sports and look good while doing it. Along the way, we have been incredibly fortunate to earn the support of people who believed in us early on, including Audrey Gruber at Bonzer Athletics, Rich Vincent at Atwill, Mark Chou at Swiftwick, Philip and Paula Pavkov at ALWRD, George Williams at East Peak, the Run Club Creative team, Grey Stephenson for building our technology, and Luke Jay for his mentorship as we got started.
